We invite you to enjoy an “unusual” adventure in the tropical rainforest in the northern plains of Costa Rica. If you want to enjoy an authentic place in the rainforest where you can explore the ecosystem at your own pace, visit our hidden gem: “La Laguna del Lagarto Lodge”. Our lodge has 500 hectares of tropical rainforest. You can walk through this paradise alone or accompanied by a local guide for more than 10km of marked trails where you can see the poisonous frogs, both the red and the green with black (Dendrodates pumilio and D. auratus), parrots, orioles, alligators and an incredible variety of trees and plants. We have identified over 365 different species of birds including the Great Green Macaw (Ara ambigua), which can only be found in this region. We have a butterfly garden and there are small plantations of pepper, palm, cassava and pineapple in which you will appreciate the traditional agriculture of the region. The Lodge is secluded and cozy. We have 20 comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, hot water and fans. Our panoramic restaurant offers typical Costa Rican menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For your entertainment we offer: canoing in two lakes, tours through the jungle trails, horseback riding, rest and relaxation in spacious terraces, boating on the Rio San Carlos, butterfly garden, experimental plantations of pineapple, cassava, pepper and palm.
