La Kukula Lodge is an ecolodge established in April 2009 in Costa Rica’s South Caribbean Coast, in Puerto Viejo / Playa Chiquita. The lodge is located in an area renowned for its astonishing Caribbean beaches: Cocles, Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva / Arrecife and Manzanillo. Located in an idyllic spot for surfing (from December to February and June to July) and diving/snorkeling (from late July to October and March to May), it is also perfect for families seeking high quality tourist outdoor activities including beach walking, or simply relaxing in the tranquility of unpopulated spaces. La Kukula Lodge has 8 rooms with bathroom, terrace, decking area, fans and constant hot water. Each room has access to the pool, bar and the jungle gardens where it is very easy to spot local wildlife such as raccoons, agoutis, howler monkeys, white faced capuchin monkeys, sloths (aka Kukulas!), toucans, frogs and many species of birds. Our new lodging option available from September 2013 is Casa Kukula, a 2 story Caribbean house with private swimming-pool.
